Serving Ottawa, Kingston, Belleville, Oshawa, Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, and All of Ontario
We were created to be in community with others and when we experience conflict within our relationships whether that's a marriage, family, friendships, or parenting, it can be devastating. Maybe you have always found your relationships volatile, struggle to build and maintain relationships, or are simply stuck not knowing how to find a way forward in a particular relationship. Where building healthy relationships is an indicator of a thriving and fulfilling life, seeking help through therapy may be warranted if you are struggling in this area.
Impaired relationships often contribute to self-esteem issues, loneliness, isolation, feelings of worthlessness, and overall mental health issues. It makes sense then to invest time and focus into how you can build and grow healthier relationships for a more meaningful and satisfying life.
Treatment for Relationship Concerns
While each relationship presents its unique challenges, we work from an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach that deals with the underlying root causes of relationship issues. This is an adult attachment need that must be met in order to build and nurture secure bonds in relationships. Communication issues, for example, are simply a symptom of the underlying attachment need that has gone unmet and triggers an often irrational or exaggerated response as a result of these fears. EFT is based on adult attachment science and is very well researched as a gold standard treatment in relationship therapy. It is utilized in couples counselling as well as family counselling.
